You receive an error message in the errors pane or errors list for your sensor that says
No response or reply to the test email was received. This indicates a problem with your email message delivery service.
This error indicates that the sensor was not able to fully test the mail queues as part of its normal operation. CloudReady Email sensors send test messages to the CloudReady auto-responders with the SMTP address of email@example.com. The autoresponder then immediately replies which the sensor waits for.
There can be two possible causes for this error message.
- You have SPAM blocking tools in place that are blocking the automatic reply from the firstname.lastname@example.org domain
- You have very slow outbound or inbound mail filtering in place. The sensor waits for at least 2 minutes for the response to its synthetic mail. If the response doesn't arrive in that period of time the sensor will return this error. Currently, there is no way to adjust this timeout.
